Hello! I’m back with my second review for this outlet, and I’m so excited to present this single to you. I discovered this band on TikTok and yes, it is a good marketing tool for musicians if they don’t have to force themselves to produce content, in my opinion. This time I’m reviewing the brand new single by alt-rock outfit Poe the Passenger. Have you ever felt insecure about your looks or not being able to afford brand jeans etc.? This song is for you! It gives you that confidence boost you’ve been looking for. The song is called “Lose Control” and it’s about how you don’t need to be rich to be famous, to stay humble. Your looks aren’t what matters most, but your attitude and the way you treat others. Being kind goes a long way and will get you more friends than being rich if you don’t treat others as equals. It’s the perfect soundtrack on your journey to feeling more confident in yourself.
This song radiates confidence and happiness and sunshine and it tells you, that you can look great without needing to pay a lot of money for fashion, hair cuts, or other things. True beauty isn’t measured by the number on a scale or your hair color or anything else. It shows when you stay true to yourself and choose to let the light inside you shine outward by just being yourself and treating others with kindness and compassion. It tells you not to let anyone restrict you, break out of your comfort zone, lose control and never give up! The true brightness that makes this band shine brighter than a diamond is the way they connect with their fans and stay true to themselves.
The song is an NScene certified bop and shouldn’t be missed in your playlists this summer. With a melody that gets stuck in your head after the first listen and a rhythm that makes it impossible not to dance/move to, it’s a great song to motivate you during your workout or when needing to get through boring tasks. I caught myself starting to dance while doing the laundry when listening to it which makes it way more fun. The song is a banger with very nice guitar and bass tones, a drum rhythm that goes straight into your bones, and I need to mention those high notes, Jeff, the frontman produces, as well as very smooth vocals that complete the song and make it the alt-rock anthem of the year in my opinion.
I feel the song very much has a Summer party, happy time, laughing with your friends, and having fun vibe. We all need to lose control every once in a while when you can just have fun and do whatever you want with no one (not even yourself) standing in your way. It has definitely become one of my favourite songs by this band and I really want to hear it live one day and see everyone lose control on the dancefloor and scream out the lyrics. Keep an eye out for Poe the Passenger because they’re definitely gonna go far with their music, especially with that „shine that makes all diamonds look dull.“ Listen to the song on streaming platforms here!
